SEG Geophysical Online Quiz Night

During the quarantine period, the Eötvös Student Chapter invited its members to have some fun online with a playful geophysics quiz.
In 2021 the Chapter introduced a new online event: a geophysics-themed quiz night. The Chapter wanted to expand the repository of online events - not only with professional ones but also with others that could help manage the psychological pressure caused by pandemic closure. The event took place on a dedicated Discord channel. On the quiz night, five teams competed for the victory, each one consisting of 2-4 members. There was a great interest in this event, since not only the members of the SEG Student Chapter, but even geology students from the university's AAPG Student Chapter took part in the quiz night. All teams performed excellently in the quiz, resulting in an unusual three-way tie for the first place: Csapatnév 404; Geotársak; Földalátók. Hopefully, the participants enriched their knowledge with both useful geophysical knowledge and fun facts related to Earth Science.
